Superbloom
2023
I teamed up with Boston-artist Deborah Johnson to craft a unique table for her
installation, Superbloom, a project supported by the City of Boston.
Using Fusion360, I modeled out the design, and computer-aided machining on the Shopbot,
cut out the wooden pieces for assembly.
Special attention was given to integrating custom
components to bolster structural integrity.
Designed
for adaptability, the table can be conveniently
disassembled and reassembled, making it ideal
for Superbloom's sessions across various Boston parks.
A unique feature of the table is its "lazy susan"-style tabletop,
promoting communal engagement in art activities. Post-fabrication,
I guided Deborah on the best finishing techniques for the wood, and
she beautifully accentuated the table with her signature red designs.
